No sugar but lots of coffee?

I recently made coffee, and during the processing of preparing my wonderful concoction I ran out of sugar. Not even a packet in my house. The only sugar I had was Splenda, brown sugar, or marshmallows.
I knew Splenda was out of the question, ew. I was really considering marshmallows because it would be like hot chocolate.. except not at all. So I ended up putting a tiny bit of brown sugar in my coffee. I was, and still am, desperate. 

Note to self: Never forget sugar ever again.
